Content Focus

Clinical Neuropharmacology’s mission is to publish high quality clinical and preclinical science in neuropharmacology and related fields with a vision of facilitating scientific progress and helping patients receive better care and better outcomes. The Journal is most interested in reviewing and publishing original research, whether clinical or preclinical. For clinical research, randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are the highest priority, however, the Journal is also interested in receiving manuscripts for observational trials. Next in publication prioritization are review meta-analyses and systematic reviews, with IPD-meta-analyses receiving priority publication consideration over aggregate meta-analyses, and systematic reviews receiving priority over scoping reviews. The Journal does not accept narrative reviews or case reports/series unless pre-approved by or invited by the editor. The Journal will review original study protocol, diagnostic/prognostic, qualitative and economic research, and quality assurance (QI) study manuscripts.

The Journal is excited to expand its scope to include NEUROTHERAPEUTICS, NEUROREHABILITATION, and TRANSLATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE, and will invite or solicit reviews on exciting new areas within these fields. All submissions will continue to undergo peer review to ensure they meet a threshold of excellence. The Journal will also explore forming relationships with societies, colleges, and workgroups in areas such as Consultation Psychiatry, Neurorehabilitation, and Biomedical Engineering.
